Alright, about 15 months ago I replaced the driver's side E brake cable - the old one was frozen. Just for kicks, I also replaced all of the brake hardware.
When assembling the cable, I connected the front first, then the rear cable end. To my surprise, the clamp to hold the cable to the suspension arm wouldn't fit as the cable wouldn't go that far.
Last month I noticed a rubbing sound and realized that the cable sheathing was rubbing against the side of the tire. The cable had pulled forward when the E brake was applied.
Today, I braved the garage temps to try to move the cable away from the rear tire. Nope, not long enough! I tugged on the cable and managed to get it to go backward about 1/2 inch, but as soon as I let go, back it went to the original position.
Is it possible that I missed something during the install???? Or is the cable short???? It is from FCP ordered on 12/12.
Yes, I routed the cable through the clamp under the carpet.
