Parking brake, what did I do wrong 850

It is just too cold up here to pull the cable! I got a response from a Scot who has the same problem. He told me that there are others and they all have aftermarket cables!

I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and go OEM, Taska asks $51 + SH, about $20 more than what I paid.

If I had an auto tranny, I could live without it. But I want a car that I can park anywhere without fear.

If I didn't use the under carpet hold down, it might fit. But that experiment will be put on hold until we start getting a few days above 32F.
