'96 850 Front End issues 850 1996

This is going to be a long post, but judging from the responses I've gotten from this board in the past, it'll be worth it.

To make a long story short, my 850's got some problems that I thought I had figured out, but now she's throwing me for a loop, and I think it's well beyond a "change this one part and everything will go away" diagnosis. Perhaps a whole front end overhaul is in order, you guys tell me.

Anyway, last night, I decided to check if any calipers were sticking. After manuevering through a parking lot, my front rotors were very hot, my rear pasenger was hot, and my rear driver was almost normal. I checked again today, and it was the same way. I think this has been the case for awhile. What could that be, and what do I need to fix to take care of it?

Moving on, I've outlined my weird strong left pull problem before (PLEASE see this post: http://www.brickboard.com/AWD/index.htm?id=1018876 it outlines the issue and explains why I was checking my rotors). And I was all set to change the control arms and outer tie rods, but figured I'd jack up the car just once to really test both sides (doing the 'grab the wheel at 6 and 12 and wiggle' trick). And the wheels were solid as rocks. No popping or cracking, as some said should be the case for control arms and tie rods. I also noticed that the outer edge of my front passenger tire was worn a little more than the inner edge of the same tire, but overall the two fronts were worn about the same.

In addition, ever since I've had the car, at about 35-40 mph and above, there is a low "wuum wuum wuum wuum" sound coming from the front end of the car when taking generally rolling turns on highways and such. This, coupled with the brand-new feeling I got last night when driving on tight country roads at 35-40 mph (having some fun) of the wheel being pulled in the left direction (the pull was synchronized with the wheel rotations... pull, no pull, pull, no pull, etc) when in a tight left turn, kinda freaked me out.

One last thing: when moving slowly in very tight turns (wheels either full left or right or close to the extremes) there is a DISTINCTIVE creaking sound emanating from the front end. Thought I'd add this.

Okay, so all this, in addition to other issues outlined in the previous post (the rubbing noise, the clunking when going over rougher road surfaces) makes for a Volvo with some issues. I've had the car for 26,000 miles now (with 111,000 miles on the odometer) and as far as I can tell, there hasn't been and front end suspension type work done ever, so all this may just be normal maintenance that I need to do anyway. Money is a little tight, so I don't want to just replace random parts to see what happens. At the same time, if there are things that need to be done for an 850's front end, then I will gladly do them. I love the car.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but that is literally everything. Equally long replys would not be a problem. I want the car to handle like new. Thanks!
