Spark plugs

A bit of a hijack here. I just bought a set of Volvo plugs from FCP Groton. They are 3 prong non turbo for B5204FS.

Do I have to worry about changing plugs now?
I also read people gapping it wider than specified.
Is that a good idea?

Have not visit the board for quite a while. Car's running great@165k, burns more oil than it should and the AC evap is really gone.
