You ask a intersting question.

I'd say the consumer reports ratings are RIGHT on. They are from owners. Also, keep in mind all the postings of issues you see here. If you do your own repairs, you'll be posting here some day soon. Do you see some themes? As far as durability, it is more than pistons and valves. I think you need to look at the frequency of how an auto demands time for taking care of "it".


In contrast, the Lexus board is all about stereos, wheel trim and how to clean spots on the seats.
