Thanks for your feedback.
It should be the EVAP purge valve, as it's mounted on the edge of the fan shroud.
There is a rubber line About 8mm diameter from the inlet mainfold to the valve and on the other side of the valve there is a hard line (nylon) that goes somewhere under the radiator.
What could this valve hve to do with the symptoms described earlier?

About the EGR controller i don't think there is any on the place you pointed, the closest part there, is the fan relay. My car is an European model, it may not have it installed.
