How hot do I let it get? 850 1996

If you replaced the thermostat and the temp. sender....the needle on the dash should never ever move up or down from horizontal. If the needle is still moving around, you might have a water pump going bad or something else going on that would show up as a loss of coolant.....heater core maybe....
