How hot do I let it get? 850 1996

I was just in Columbus, picking up my daughter at OWU. I didn't bring any tools anyway.

The normal temp gauge reading for a warmed up 850 is 3:00. It should never fluctuate. I hope you used an OEM thermostat, the others are garbage and prone to fail in the closed mode which will kill the engine.

Don't forget to check the cap on the overflow bottle for cracks. They do that with age and loose pressure.
