oil leak #2 - help V70-XC70 1998

I cheated! I took my car to a dealer and let him change it. The awd makes it almost a blind operation compared to the easy FWD.

NO. Do not remove the bevel gear, it will gain you nothing but a large headache and a lot of extra work. There is a procedure over on Volvospeed to drill out out one the bevelgear bolts to drain the fluid. Very careful on drilling, but great for flushing the box. This procedure has been approved by Volvo.

While you need to clean up your PCV plumbing, your rear cam seal does have to be replaced - afterward. It is not that difficult, after removing the IC piping and air cleaner to get access.
