oil leak #2 - help V70-XC70 1998

I got the seals in the mail for the turbo drain line, and put the car up on the ramps this weekend to change it.

I did manage to reach everything adequately. I found the best way to get to it was actually to put my hands up from basically directly under the turbo, and meanwhile scoot myself closer to the rear of the car and look up over top of the bevel gear and driveshaft from behind. There was precious little room but it was doable.

Except for one problem - the bolts were frozen on and I was about to ruin the inset hex heads. After over an hour of trying I decided I will have to take it to my indie to do it because I'm worried I'll ruin it.

I did get my PCV system done though (took all goddamn day though because I changed every vacuum line I saw during the process as well). I can't tell yet if the RMS has stopped weeping or not yet. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

Also, I decided that while I had everything apart I would change the seals on the oil cooler lines at the radiator. They're fairly easy to get to and the parts were cheap.

I learned a lesson with that job though - be very careful that the little clips that hold the line on are properly positioned and secured. Mine blew off when I drove away, blowing all 5+ litres of oil onto my engine and then the road. WHAT A MESS!! I've got them on there now with stainless hose clamps, and they don't seem to be moving anymore or even leaking. What a shit job to have to do in the freezing cold with oil dripping all over everything and on to your face though. Wow.
