I assume the lamp failure sensors are internal to the CEM.

RE: how to remove the CEM
Here is the technique I have successfully employed on multiple occasions to obtain this sort of info . . . .
-1- Purchase some cigarettes and a box (or 2) of Dunkin' Donuts (a form of currency up here in New England).
-2- Drive to your friendly Volvo dealer around 9AM.
-3- Look for a Technician (or several) smoking outside the service area.
-4- Walk up to them, light a cigarette (you don't actually have to smoke it), and strike up a conversation about sports.
-5- Offer the unopened box(es) of donuts in exchange for the information/advice you seek.
Typically, the Tech will yell inside and 4-5 more will join the discussion. One will be experienced in your topic of interest and may even offer to demonstrate on a vehicle in the service area.

I hope the Brickboard Admin doesn't sanction us for monopolizing the forum.
