Air Conditioner 850 97

Looking for help. I appear to have an electrical problem w/ the a/c. When it's turned on, compressor engages for a second and then disengages. It does this continuously and I can see the pulley engaging/turning and disengaging/stopping. The system obviously isn't blowing any cold air. What electrical relays or solenoids would cause this? Thanks.
