Had the exact same problem last summer. Freon(gaz) was verry low and AC was a little lazy... Compressor was off and on every 1 to 5 seconds. Filled up with new gaz, worked for 2 months and the problem was back. Fixed the problem by replacing the evaporator when the car hit the 100k.
