I don't believe faulty knock sensors are a common problem. I'd investigate the connector and wiring before going off and spending $$$ on a new one. My first move would be to pull the connector, clean if necessary and replace - especially if the only symptom is the CEL. Besides the CEL are there any other symptoms like loss of power or predetonation?
