Actually, my 850 key only says "Ymos" on one side and "Made in UK" on the other. Obviously, I don't have the remote handy so I don't know about that. I suppose another Volvo officianado might recognize the key, but the ordinary car thief doesn't usually go for Volvos anyway, early '90s Camrys are so much easier with a shaved key.
As for the remotes, you'd be surprised. I read police reports every day: a common scenario is that a thief goes into an exercise place, lifts a wallet/purse/keys from a locker, and off they go. Why make it easier for them?
