Hi guys,
So I have a 1999 v70 non-turbo. The tranny died a couple of years ago, and I had a factory new one installed at the dealership (big bucks). The old tranny blew at just 98k miles (I was horrified) and I've never had an explanation as to why. I now have 121k on the car (about 23k on tranny) and I'm becoming paranoid about killing the transmission again. As my wife would say, nothing's gone wrong for a few weeks, so I'm making up something to stress about! I saw somewhere that "glycol" in the trans fluid can kill a transmission, so I'm considering replacing the radiator in the car just for this reason. Am I a wacko? The radiator looks great, no corrosion on the outside, it's been flushed and new hoses recently. Does anyone know how (un)common it is to have a transmission cooler leak in the radiator?
I'd appreciate it if someone out there could give some reasonable advice!!
Thanks all!
