Help me!!!! 850 1997 GLT TURBO

I think it's the airpump dying on me... In the engine, on the driver's side. It sounds like i have a jet trapped in a cage in there... It will be on for one minute at a time then turn off.. How can i see if it's messed up? Is it even the air pump?
