Actually, I do have 1/4 times on turbocharged drag cars that use water injection as well as nitrous injection on the exterior of intercoolers.
Want proof, head to Magnus Motorsports in Woodbridge Ontario. I know of two guys personally that run water injection. One of them has an RX-7 that makes about 450hp. He get's on average, about 40-45hp just through water injection. The other has an eagle talon with a RWD conversion. He also gets similar gains.
No the stock intercooler can't be moved, but an aftermarket unit can be installed in another position, essentially moving the intercooler.
