I have seen an S70 "R" in the Bay Area. Looked like the

owner had added wheels, lowering, springs, etc. and then

tacked on the "R" badge. (I know they were not imported.)

The European R model also had a viscous coupled transmission

to reduce wheel spin.

I also read a review of the R model in a European car magazine

and they called it "sublime". Maybe the same article Yannis

read?

And yep, the 70 series suspension is softer then the 850s

(I drive both). I prefer the 70 series, myself.
