The fact is that regardless of the fluids color or what inpurities are found in it during tests, the transmission will last out the warranty time period so Volvo's covered.

I think Rich's point here was merely to suggest that changing the fluid is a good idea if you plan to keep your car past warranty.

It's not likely that Volvo will change their lack of maintenance for transmissions if they're now outlasting warranty and most do.
