Per my new BMW's service manual, the automatic transmission ("STEPTRONIC") has a life-time fill and no checks are required, let alone changes.

Fortunately (whew!!) I have a manual and thus don't have to spend sleepless nights wondering if the elephants are going to attack.

Actually it's probably all a conspiracy amongst the big manufacturers to get us to buy cars more often...
