If it is not a turbo, then clean out the PCV and throw away the plastic screen that is in there.
Before your trip, a new timing belt is warranted due to age, but so is a new fuel filter, air filter, cabin filter, and possibly spark plugs/cap/rotor.
Replacing the RMS is very expensive, make sure that is the source of an oil leak before replacing it.
Have you flushed the tranny, ever? Easy to do.
How old are the tires?
Other than that, drive it down to FL where the labor is going to be cheaper than in DC. If there are AC issues, fix them in FL. If the RMS is leaking a little, FL might be cheaper.
Except for the tires, there is no reason you can't just drive down to the warmer climate with the car the way it is. Just the time needed to DIY on the little stuff might be a limiting factor when you get to warm weather.
