The IPD ECU upgrade removes the top speed limiter. Basically,

you have to reprogram the ECU to do it. A 98 T5 is "limited" to

143MPH. Later years reduced that number a bit (120 MPH, I believe).

I have seen an image posted here of a turbo model's speedo

pegged at 140 showing about 5500 RPM. Without a limiter

I doubt it would go much faster since power starts to drop off

around 5600 RPM.
