NO. The knock sensor attaches to the engine block and sends a signal to the ignition ECU to retard timing when knock (ping) is detected. The oxygen sensor is installed in the exaust system near the catalytic converter. It measures exaust oxygen content and sends a signal to the fuel injection system to control fuel matering. Some systems combine fuel and ignition in one ECU, while others have two seperate units.
