Idle Air Control 850

The idle air control varies the amount of air going into the manifold - at idle, not while driving. It has very little effect on the engine vacuum.

Your brakes losing vacuum is usually an indication that the oneway valve between the booster and the engine is no longer working. Or, you have a vacuum leak so large, that the engine will hardly run.
