Check the wires on the probe, mine eventually broke at both ends! A scanner will still work on the inside of the car, but that only gives you the Pnnnn codes. Also make sure the doors are closed, for some reason the OBD doesn't like the interior lights on.

Is your battery fully charged? How old is the electrical portion of the ignition switch? Are the spark plugs fouled?
