I under stand about heat and heating metal expands, but my concern is the softening of the aluminum alloy. Stripping threads on the white blocks is no fun.

BTW, as a shade tree mechanic, I always home the spark plugs by hand and then use a socket to tighten them up. I am sure the current owner does it the same way. And I doubt any owner would use air tools to put spark plugs back in, on his own car!
