Sounds like the EGR valve. unbolt it from the intake manifold (2 bolts)
see if it and the intake mainifold port is plugged with goop.
Gotta clean that junk out well. Be careful to mark those vacuum lines to the
controller by the fan- reversing them gets you in trouble.
