Re: Replacing Dash Bulbs 850 1993

Gotta get the bulbs from Volvo. They are $3 or 4 and you should replace both if you have the dash cover apart. If you are a moderately good mechanic, you should be able to do the whole procedure in about 2 hours max. That is what it took me, but I took time to tighten every screw and bolt I could find in the vien of stopping the sqeaks. YOu will need a decent Torx set to undo everything. Not one philips head in the bunch...

The Haynes manual has the whole procedure, inlcuding removal and replacement of the passenger airbag. This may sound like a lot of work, but it really isn't. You'd be surprised how easy it is. Just be sure to follow the reinstall procedure to avoid any costly airbag detonation.

While I had the gauge cluster out (it comes out in one piece) I pulled the annoying Service light. It has no other purpose except to send you to the dealer every 5000 miles, particulary if you keep track of your maintenance with the least amount of diligence.

Good luck, but just pick up the Haynes and should be a cake walk.
