still no start 850

got spark and fuel, still no start. fuel pressure reg is showing any obvious failiure (no flooding of fuel) so should I still try to test fuel pressure? when i relive the pressure via schrader valve, a little fuel is ejected, but by no mean a strong stream. is this normal, or should there be a higher bust of feul shot as, as I would expect if it was under 40lbs or so of pressure. I dont have fuel pressure test gear so not sure if I whould buy it. swaped out fuel pump req. realy and no difference. no apparent air leaks/loose vacumm connections.
any help would be appreciated before i need to get this think towed....
