If just "a little fuel is ejected" then I would say the pressure is too low. It should be around 40+ psi so alot should squirt out. You can use a cheap moving rod type of gauge although they are not too accurate. Just calibrate it using the tire pressure. Pump your tires up to 42 psi at a service center using their calibrate filler and check it a few times with the cheap one. Whatever it reads you can assume it's close enough to 42 psi. Or just spend a few extra bucks and get an additional more accurate dial type tire gauge to measure your tire pressure. BTW you should have one anyway. The problem with the dial units is they usually don't have an angled attachment so you can't use them to measure the fuel rail schrader valve.
