Knock sensor... 143 is the front sensor...

I have a same problem in my 1994 turbo.. 1994 is a lemon with the knock sensor.. volvo do sell a kit to up grade..

You can always clear the code and drive around it may never come back...

oftend many people do it remove the front knock sensor and clean it the connector is the one with the problem clean it good and plug it back oftend

good for 1 or 2 years before they come back...

but up grade kit is the way to go.. I plan to do mine this summer....

so it is a problem that can be fix... but you will have to remove the intake manifold to get to it....

93-94 850 have this problem I am not sure 95 and up...

but clear out the code it may never come back...
