Re: Heating changes to cooling suddenly! S80 2000

As you know, I have one. I've had it for about a year now, and I haven't been to the dealer once- I've been fortunate, and I'm grateful to have this experience after what I went through with the S80. They tell me I still don't need an oil change yet, since I have this synthetic oil that's supposed to last until 15,000 miles or so. It purrs like a kitten but I'm starting to worry- I kind of miss the good old days of S80 ownership, when I used to go back and forth to the Volvo dealership every month, and I used to know the service manager on a first name basis, and he used to tell me with a perplexed look on his face that there were no "problems."

By the way, you recently posted that you got an S60, right? Congratulations, it looks like it could be a nice car, but time will tell- let's see how it holds up to the competition- check out Road and Track for a preview. However, I thought you were an S80 owner before, based on your previous posts on the S80 site. I could be wrong, but if you did own an S80, why did you switch? If the lease ended, and if you liked the S80 so much, then why not buy it, or lease another S80? Maybe you just wanted a change, but I would be interested to know how many S80 owners are turning to other models (or other car manufacturers) after their lease is up. From the looks of Volvo used car lots, which seem to have a healthy supply of S80s, I wonder how many people are actually holding on to this car?
