Re: Heating changes to cooling suddenly! S60 2001

Well, Dave, I figured you would answer my post. You are right in that I did own a S80. The only mistake I made was not getting the T6. I opted for the 2.9 and while it was a nice car I missed the turbo (having owned a Volvo turbo in the past). My only problem with the S80 was a sub-frame bushing that had to be replaced which was done without fanfare at the dealer. I have to go by my personal experiences in Volvo ownership. I've owned a PV544(85000 mi.), then a S70GLT(50000mi.),a S80 2.9(12000mi). Aside from the previously mentioned sub-frame bushing and warped rear disks on the S70 my cars have been trouble-free. If I had some of the problems that other posters have had I would be driving something else now.BMW's are not without their faults either. An aquaintance of mine had to have his auto tranny replaced on his 3 series BMW at 3000 miles. Do I think all BMW's are garbage b/c of that? Of course not as he has been trouble-free for a couple of years now. The S80 was a little too softly sprung for me and I wanted something sportier and a little smaller. I opted for a S60 2.4T with the 17" wheels for better handling. The 3 series was smaller yet with less interior room and smaller trunk. As far as styling goes ,well, that is a personal thing. I'm glad you are enjoying your BMW but the thing I wonder about is why you keep coming back to the BB. Do you miss us that much? Glad to see you have a sense of humor so we leave in peace!
