Intermitent no hot start 850

Thanks for the reply Klaus. I have been doing a bunch of reading this am on this site and others and want to make sure I am getting my terminology correct. Is the Cam shaft sensor also known as the VSS or vehicle speed sensor? How does this part inhibit spark upon failure? Would he have fuel but no spark if its faulty? How do I test? Would it not set a code?
