Thank you for your reply. I didn't know water pumps were good for 200,000 miles. One of my '96 850s is approaching 350,000 and is due for a timing belt. The water pump was replaced about 148,000 miles ago, so maybe I'll be a "spendthrift" and replace it at the same time I do the belt.
