Thank you for your suggestion. I will check it out. I had my mechanic look at my car yesterday. He said the manner in which the radiator cap cracked was common and not necessarily an indication of excessive internal pressure.

He also believed the “bulge” on the expansion tank was not a reflection of excessive pressure, but age. I purchased a replacement tank and will install it today.
