Didn't know about the breadclip fix and my 2004 s80 was symptomatic. I had the system evacuated and recharged but still had the same problem. And it was getting hot here in Michigan. I measured the gap at 30 thousandths using a feeler gauge. I used small nylon ties. I did it from above using a long screwdriver to close the clutch gap. Using long pliers I fed the ties from above and pulled them through. I put in two on each 'ring'. Total of six ties. Since then the AC is working perfect and I've put at least three thousand miles on the car. I don't think you have anything to lose. I was skeptical but it worked. Question is for how long. I'll post again 'when' it fails. In the meantime I saved the cost of a new compressor and labor to install it and recharge the system. It took me about two hours because I piddled around. If I had to do it again it would take twenty minutes. Try it and tell us what happens.
