Larry,
My V70 AWD XC needs a new o2 sensor too. I was quoted $230 for the sensor and I'm not sure about the labor yet. But, I found the sensor online for $90 at www.thepartsbin.com. Did they do anything else to your car? $517 sounds like a lot!
