Have you tried getting codes? Yes I know you would probably need a dealer for that. But OBD-II scanners can be purchased online, for not all that much, and will pay themselves back within one to two warning lights coming on.
I have a feeling your PNP (Park-Neutral Position) sensor is faulty. When it fails, the car is no longer capable of realizing the tranny is in either P or N. As such, it will not allow the engine to be started. All other functions will work, i.e. radio, HVAC (without running the compressor), lights, etc, but the engine will not be able to be started.
