Get Rid Of Your Gas Cap V70-XC70

When I first heard of the fuel cap thing I said "three clicks my ass" and immediately fixed it. I bought a Permacap from IPD. Then I carefully refaced the aluminum filler pipe with a light abrasive on a flat block, taking great care and a vacuum cleaner to make sure no particles fell down into the system. Then I cleaned the rubber gasket on the Permacap and torqued it on. It hasn't come off since. (The Permacap has a spring loaded flap for refueling.)

Sounds like you've identified a major paradigm shift in car "ownership".
