I strongly agree with the post that warns you to warm your Volvo up every time you start it.
I had this happen to my '95 855 AND my '90 740 turbo sedan.
With the 850, the valves on a couple of cylinders stuck open (evidenced by turning over FASTER than normal)
BTW my dealer responded by changing the oil, filter, and plugs. I had looked at the plugs myself before I had the car TOWED and they did look fouled.
I'll never move a modern car again without warming it up!
