Blow off valve 850 1996

They are used on high pressure turbo cars. With your turbo pumping out 17+psi of boost, if you suddenly pull your foot off the accelerator and the throtle valve slams shut, 2 things will happen. First the turbo will supercharge the air lines between the turbo and the throttle valve, posibly blowing things up, and secondly it will create a pressure wave that can destroy your turbo.

They are not necessary for any of the regular mods most of us would do.
