The more your exhaust flows, the more boost will be made, until the engine management program detects over boost and bleeds more exhaust gas through the bypass valve, which shouldn't happen at just one psi more.

A 3" downpipe should provide about 1 psi of boost over a stock downpipe with a 2.5" cat-back on an 850T.
