CD Changer Problems (SC-900) S70 1998

I have a recurring problem with my 3-CD changer. From time to time and for no apparent reason, CDs get stuck in the changer. An "ERROR" message appears on the display screen. After some fiddling around, I am able to remove/eject the CD holder but one of the CDs stays stuck in the changer. It does not seem to be tied to the condition of the compact disc. Old ones and new ones alike get stuck. I have replaced my first factory-installed changer under warranty because of this problem, and now the new replacement changer has the same fault. Anyone of you have experienced this problem? What is the cure? It is sad that such a great-sounding player is plagued by these mechanical gremlins.
