Please help a newbie! 850 or S-70?? 850

We own a 95 855 and 98 S70 T5M. The 98 T5s are available with a manual
transmssion (if that is important). I did have some initial problems
with both cars; but, once sorted out they are fine. I would want to
see records and look for re-occuring problems (you don't want to see
re-occuring problems).

The 70 series has a much nicer ride then the 850. The wheel wells are
bigger (bit easier to get chains on, I would expect). Interior
is redone. Many minor things are changed but the driveline is pretty
much the same.

Safety wise, the 98's offer a bit more side protection (B-pillars
re-enforced to give side air bags more time to deploy); more
knee bolster protection; re-designed steering wheel linkage to
collapse with less force on your chest.

I would buy another 98 (after looking it over closely) and would take
the 98 over the 97.
