AMSOIL S70

If one were to evaluate and compare motor oils on the criteria deemed most important to provide the many services motor is supposed to perform, one would understand that Amsoil is the leader in this field. The fact that they aren’t as large as Exxon-Mobil, or Chevron-Texaco is of little significance to me. It has been my experience that their products work as advertised.

On my Jeep Grand Cherokee, I’ve followed their recommended filter and oil change intervals for the last 100K miles (that’s about five oil changes and 10 filter changes for me), and my engine still performs like new. There is zero, and I mean zero tarnish or sludge built up around the motor’s rocker arms or oil passages on the upper part of the head. This was not the case when I used Castrol GTX in this motor (with 3K mile change intervals). Now at approx. 125K miles, compression is still factory new and oil consumption is non-existent.

On my Volvo, because it is a turbo, I’m sticking a 7,500 mile change interval until oil analysis indicates I may be able to extend it further.

I have no vested interest in the Amsoil Corporation. When or if somebody comes out with a better product, I’ll be the first to line up.
