The scamsoil joke is really thin and old.
Why would you think Amsoil doesn't easily exceed the minimilist API tests? It does.
API is a very base standard. It is NOT a standard of excellence. Yes some very nasty store brand petroleum oils have failed the few random sample inspections that API does but for the most part it's been a toothless "approval".
But why should the formulation be controlled by the API? Makes no sense to the owner of Amsoil. Amsoil could have easily gone down the API path. Big deal. The oil exceeds the standard, so what is the deal?
As far as volume goes, the single owner of Amsoil has to his credit or detriment decided NOT to sell out or go public. He likes to run the business his way.
Why would you write something like "Stick with brands that have a vested interest in maintaining their name"?
This and your previous diatribe tells me you really don't know what you are talking about.
