Sorry to here the bad news. I would start by sending a written complaint to the dealer you purchased the car from, detailing the exact problem and if possible include a written report from the repairing dealer. In your letter ask for a full explaination of how the car came to be repaired prior to your ownership and then ask for compensation if you see fit. If they fail to respond favorably I would take the matter up with Volvo HQ in your country and then contact your local government consumer office and ask for their advice.
