Put the wastegate back to original C70 1999

IPD does state that it is not necessary unless you run the car hard all the time. But most people shelling out the big bucks to get the upgrade ECU want their car to run faster. As a result of being faster, the car would have to run harder than normally.

From what I've noticed on my IPD exhaust, it does connect right after the catalyst convertor. The big thing that I noticed was that the original has this big square tank (I don't know the term for this part), while the IPD is only about half the size. Another thing is that the IPD exhaust weighs a lot less than the OEM exhaust.

Let me know how the chip runs. I've got a 99 also, but I've been doing other mods on the car and haven't done the chip yet. Thanks!
